Precision positioning — questions
Vibration isolation methods?
Sorbothane mounts, wire rope isolators, elastomeric bushings. Selection per frequency and amplitude requirements.
Thermal expansion compensation?
Invar 36 (CTE ~1.2 × 10⁻⁶) for high-precision mounts. Aluminum (CTE 23) acceptable for less critical.
Outdoor durability?
316L stainless or aluminum with hardcoat anodize. UV-stable materials. IP66/67 sealing for weather.
Adjustment range?
Mounts typically allow ±5° tilt, ±10° pan, ±5 mm translation. Larger ranges per customer specification.
Sensor compatibility?
Standard machine vision (Cognex, Keyence, Basler), lidar (Velodyne, Ouster), depth sensors (Intel RealSense, Microsoft Kinect).
Lead time?
Standard mounts 3 weeks. Custom precision mounts 4-6 weeks. Includes alignment calibration.
